Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak, it means you have courage.
As I am preparing for an upcoming speech, I was reminded about a story I heard when I was a young man about a bricklayer trying to do the job alone (see link below). He got hurt. I’ve gotten hurt when trying to do the job alone.
In order to get what we need from life, and our career, we have to give and get help by working together. Don’t try to do the job alone.
Here’s how you can get the help you need by helping other people (see video)
To back me up on this, here’s some wisdom from the Beatles:
When I was younger
So much younger than today
I never needed anybody’s
Help in any way
But now these days are gone
I’m not so self-assured
Now I find I’ve changed my mind,
I’ve opened up the doors
Asking for help will open up many doors.
Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak, it means you have courage.
