“We can be heroes for ever and ever, What d’you say?” David Bowie, Changes. Ever wonder why super hero movies are so popular? Maybe those movies and the song “Heroes” from David Bowie are trying to tell us something.
In this episode we jump into both and discuss how heroes tend to be those we don’t even expect, they are all around us making the world a better place, and you just may be one too. Even for one day, we can be heroes… so why not today, and then tomorrow, and then the next day, in our own unique way.

“A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.” ― Don Juan as quoted in, The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge by Carlos Castaneda.
What path are you on? Does it feel light and easy, or hard? Are you taking the path with heart, and walking on the path with heart? In this episode we discuss what it means for us to have heart on a path with heart, and travel like a warrior knowing today is a good day to die.
“All paths are the same: they lead nowhere,” said Don Juan, and the paths you take and how you take them makes all the difference in your evolvement.

“What have we done with innocence? It disappeared with time. It never made much sense” – Monkey Wrench by The Foo Fighters. In this episode we use this song and some of its lyrics to shape our discussion. “I’d rather leave than suffer this” and “I was always caged and now I’m free.”
Sometimes on the path, in order to escape suffering, we have to leave so we can be free and fly. “When you are heavy, you cannot fly” Don Juan Matus. Can we get back to the innocence and connection with the universe by leaving our beliefs and indoctrinations that no longer serve us that are keeping us like caged birds from flying to our true spiritual potential? Are you through with suffering and ready to be free?

“Time may change me, but I can’t trace time” David Bowie, Changes. Are you prepared to turn and face the strange changes in your life? Are you facing change and working through it, or ignoring it hoping it will go away? “The only constant in life is change,” said the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, and he is correct.
In this #podcast episodes we discuss #change and why we should embrace and run towards. So all you rock ‘n’ rollers let turn and face the change… pretty soon now you’re gonna get older, so there is no time like the present to get rocking!

Is destiny knocking on your door? Did you know Beethoven’s wig is very big and Oscar Meyer sells bologna? In this episode we discuss the power of music in helping us to learn, remember, encapsulate memories, change our state of consciousness and emotions. Music is being used in movies, commercials and other forms to make you feel a certain way, and we discuss how you can start using music for your benefit.
Remember those catchy marketing jingles like “my bologna has a first name,” and “I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan.” I share why those are so easy to remember and how you can use the same techniques to help change your level of consciousness.

One of the hardest questions to answer is: do I keep persevering or is it time to change direction? In this episode we share some questions you can ask yourself and share experiences from our lives on how we knew what to do. Changing direction doesn’t mean you are quitting, it’s just another in a long list of choices we get to make every day.
A lot has changed since the late 19th century, so why are we still using the same leadership model? 70-80% of employees hate their boss, which means something needs to change in how we view and develop leaders. And, since disengaged employees only give about 15% in productivity, image how your organization could change and even make more money if the leadership style we use instead involved more appreciation and recognition for the entire team?
In this episode I talk with Chris Mefford, author of “Leadership is Overrated: How the Navy SEALs (and Successful Businesses) Create Self-Leading Teams That Win.” We discuss some practical ways leaders can define, develop, and sustain a more sustainable leadership model in today’s environment.
It’s a Mefford & Mefford episode (and no, it’s not a law firm), but two distant relatives talking about something they are both passionate about: leadership.
Chris Mefford is a seasoned marketing professional and leadership expert. He is the author of the book Leadership is Overrated, which he co-authored with retired Navy SEAL Kyle Buckett.
He is currently the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for TCWGlobal, overseeing the company’s global marketing and branding initiatives.
Prior to his current role, Chris served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Rock Church, at the time the 15th largest church in America. During his time there, he developed marketing strategies that helped increase the church’s visibility and impact in the community.
Before joining Rock Church, Chris spent a decade as the Director of Marketing and VP of Ramsey Event Productions, working alongside radio host and New York Times #1 best-selling author and Radio Hall of Fame inductee Dave Ramsey.
He was instrumental in creating two highly successful podcasts, Dave Ramsey’s Entreleadership, and Leadership University with Dr. Henry Cloud. Both podcasts achieved remarkable success, with millions of downloads and listeners.
Beyond his corporate commitments, Chris’s involvement with philanthropic organizations such as The Honor Foundation and The Salvation Army underscores his profound dedication to fostering positive social change.
Chris Mefford holds an MBA from the prestigious Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor. And two leadership certificates from Harvard University testaments to his dedication to continued personal and professional development.
Chris is married with two kids and lives in San Diego.

Much of what the world teaches about the roles in relationships is twisted and doesn’t account for the divine feminine and masculine. We all have feminine and masculine characteristics and when these energies are balanced in an any relationship it can flourish. So many relationships issues are a result of the yin / yang energy not flowing as divinely appointed.
In this #podcast episode we discuss how embracing the divine masculine can improve your relationship and how it may look different than you first expect. Every relationship is different, so to the outside world it may break the social norms, but what’s important is that it works for you and your partner.
